Greater clarity on changes to the Local Property Tax system is being sought in Kildare.
Houses built after 2013 are to be brought under the local property tax under changes approved by Government earlier this month.
That means that 7,747 homes in Kildare, completed since then, are now liable for the levy.
A review will take place in November to revalue all homes, including the 80,000 in Kildare, and end the practice where properties built after 2013 were not being charged property tax.
80% of monies raised through the LPT go to Kildare County Council.
Green Cllr. Vanessa Liston wants KCC to outline "the financial implications for the county of the proposed changes"
Her motion comes up for debate at the June meeting of the local authority on Monday.
