The national incidence rate is below that of Kildare, at 1,314.9 cases, per 100,000 of the population.

Co. Carlow has the highest virus incidence rate at 2,162.2, followed by Westmeath (1,909.4) & Longford (1,619.7).
Counties Limerick, Leitrim & Mayo all have incidence rates below 1000.
