The study is part of the County Development Plan.
The contract has been awarded for a Kildare-wide Strategic Flood Risk Assessment.
The study will form part of the review of the current County Development Plan 2017-2023.
It will also assist in the preparation of the new Kildare County Development Plan 2023-2029.
KCC, when it issued the tender said "The appointed consultant will be required to work in conjunction with the contracting authority project team to ensure that flood risk considerations are integrated into the new County Development Plan"
It has awarded the contract to RPS Group Limited.
Kildare County Council adds that " A separate contract has been procured for the preparation of Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) and Appropriate Assessment (AA) of the County Development Plan".
