Kildare County Council will contact Uisce Éireann amid ongoing water supply issues at Allen reservoir.
It comes as recent outages have caused anger among local residents and representatives.
Allen reservoir serves approximately 15,000 residents.
The most recent outage took place during the hottest temperatures of the year so far.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Fine Gael Councillor for Clane-Maynooth MD William Durkan said that the communication from Uisce Éireann has been "simply not good enough".
He added that water outages have been "one of the most significant issues I've seen impact the community in my time on the council".
"I have to say that the level of communication by Uisce Éireann is simply not good enough."
According to Cllr Durkan, numerous members of the council raised issues in relation to the water outages during a recent MD meeting, ranging from vulnerable customers to businesses affected as a result.
"There was a lot of anger during the most recent meeting, when we outlined the serious impact it's having on people, and in particular the most vulnerable people."
He demanded that the council need to meet Uisce Éireann "face-to-face" to see how the issues can be addressed.
