The County Kildare Chamber are preparing for a new CEO to take over the role later this year.
Cliodhna O'Byrne has recently been appointed and she will begin her role in September.
She brings a wealth of experience from her time with South Dublin Chamber.
The chamber represents and lobbies on behalf of businesses across the county, as well as promoting them and connecting them together and with local people.
Speaking on Kildare Today, the new County Kildare Chamber CEO Cliodhna O'Byrne emphasised the importance of the Chamber in aiding local businesses with grants and support:
"My role is to listen to businesses of all sizes and the concerns are and the challenges they have, this will be important for me to listen and work with the board and the county council and to find out what grants are available."
We also do fantastic networking events, I've heard from business owners that it can be quite lonely working on business, there's so much support and advice available."
While accepting that an increasing population can present challenges for the county, she said it was "fantastic" to see the growth in the county:
"It's fantastic, we're experiencing significant growth and new businesses we're seeing being established and existing businesses growing."
She added that "people are moving to here and people are deciding to stay here, when you look at the smaller towns, people are continuing to stay here and raise their kids here".
