The Society of the Divine Word is proposing the project.
Kildare County Council is due to issue a decision today on a proposal for a 166 student bed accommodation building in Maynooth.
The Society of the Divine Word has applied for leave to construct a 3 storey building, housing 125 beds, seminar rooms, and other facilities.
That has a proposed footprint of 3975sq.m.
In the second block, also of 3 storeys, developers want to include 41 student beds, seminar rooms and ancillary services.
There is also a link walkway between the buildings, 10 car parking spaces and 195 bicycle parking spaces.
The application is for The Society of the Divine Word's lands on Moyglare Road.

Development Description:1. Demolition of existing boiler house and overhead walkway canopy located adjacent to the existing student accommodation blocks. 2. Construction of a three storey building consisting 125 student bedroom accommodations, seminar rooms, day spaces, care takers/security office, laundry, and plant rooms, totaling 3975sq.m and identified as Block 1 on the accompany drawings. 3. Construction of a three storey building consisting 41 student bedroom accommodations, seminar rooms, day spaces, managers office, laundry, and plant rooms, totaling 1506sq.m and identified as Block 2 on the accompany drawings. 4. Creation of an internal one-way traffic system with separate vehicular entrance and exit points at existing accesses into site. 5. Creation of pedestrian plaza between existing and proposed accommodation blocks, consisting of hard and soft landscaping proposals including green amenity areas. 6. All public lighting. 7. Connection to the adjoining public watermains, public foul sewer network and adjoining public storm water network including the installation of storm water attenuation tanks. 8. Provision of 10 car parking spaces and 195 bicycle parking spaces. 9. Provision of a ESB Sub-Station and waste collection/storage area. 10. Provision of an internal footpath network to student accommodation that will connect to the existing public footpath on Moyglare Road. 11. All ancillary site development works.
