9,775 fines were issued in 2023 compared to over 11,000 in 2022
There was a decline in the number of speeding fines issued to drivers in Co. Kildare in 2023 compared to 2022.
Figures released to Aontu by the Department of Justice show that in 2022, 11,132 speeding fines were issued.
However, last year, the number of fines issued in the county dropped to 9,775.
There has been a renewed focus on safety on the road, following 184 fatalities last year and 13 so far in 2024.
Three of this year’s road fatalities were here in Kildare.
