KCC is proposing to carry out works on the Kilcullen Road.
Kildare County Council has launched a public consultation on plans for cycle and pedestrian user imporovements on the Kilcullen Road, in Naas.
The project will encompass sections of the route from Ballymore Road/Kilcullen Road junction to Fairgreen Street/Newbridge Road junction at Murtagh’s Corner, and will include:
- Installation of protected segregated cycle tracks on both sides of the carriageway from Ballymore Road/Kilcullen Road junction to Fairgreen Street/Newbridge Road junction (Murtagh’s Corner).
- Installation of a continuously raised footpath and cycle track across Corban’s Lane and St. Michael’s Terrace for additional safety to vulnerable road users.
- Removal of nine (9) on street parking spaces to accommodate protected segregated cycle and pedestrian infrastructure from Ballymore Road/Kilcullen Road junction to Fairgreen Street/Newbridge Road junction (Murtagh’s Corner).
- Installation of a raised junction table and pedestrian crossing point at Kilcullen Road/Corban’s Lane junction.

The closing date for submissions is December 3rd.
