It has been causing "distress and concern" among residents in the nearby housing estates
Calls have been made for anti-social behaviour in Celbridge to be tackled ahead of Halloween.
A local councillor in Celbridge asked for a meeting with councillors and Gardaí to be arranged to discuss issues at the park at Willowbrook.
Such behaviour has been causing "distress and concern" among residents in the nearby housing estates, according to Fine Gael Councillor for Celbridge/Leixlip MD Declan Ryan.
In response, Kildare County Council said that measures such as tree pruning have allowed for "better passive surveillance" of the area.
The Council added that bonfire material has been removed and it will continue to liase with the Gardaí to collect material when and where feasible.
Additionally, The Parks Department has scheduled the commencement of tender document preparation to engage consultants to prepare masterplans for Hazelhatch Road and Willowbrook Park, Celbridge for November of this year.
KCC says the aim of the plan will be to provide "additional amenities for all ages to improve the function and use of the space".
Speaking on Kildare Today, Cllr Declan Ryan praised a "very good meeting" held with Gardaí and the council, where problems were shared in relation to anti-social behaviour in the area.
Visibility from one end of the park to the other was a key issue noted by Gardaí, with the aforementioned tree pruning hoped to act as an aid to this issue.
Cllr Ryan also says that lighting is the "major priority" for the park in the meantime:
"In the meantime, lighting is the major priority for the park, which will help everybody," adding that he hopes it "won't be too long" before lights can be installed there.
