The council says there have also been a number of repeat offenders, while 15 incidents could not be pursued because those responsible could not be identified.
More than 40 fines have already been issued for illegal dumping at a recycling bank in Athy since a CCTV pilot scheme was introduced at Edmund Rice Square in October.
Figures from Kildare County Council show that, up to November 17th, 58 dumping incidents were recorded at the site, resulting in 43 fines.
Of those, 25 have been paid, 11 are still being processed, and seven cases are awaiting legal action.
The council says there have also been a number of repeat offenders, while 15 incidents could not be pursued because those responsible could not be identified.
Although the scheme is only running on a pilot basis until January 8th, councillors are already describing it as a success.
The figures relate to the bring-bank area at Edmund Rice Square, beside the River Barrow, where illegal dumping at the 24-hour glass recycling facility had become a persistent problem, blocking access for recyclers and raising concerns for wildlife in the Barrow, a Special Area of Conservation.
