Kfm News understands that the blackout follows a pre-Christmas crash in which a car struck an electricity pole.
It is also understood that ESB crews replaced the pole, however street lights remain unfixed.
A local says Christmas lights are being used as a stop-gap while public lighting remains out of action.
Social Democrats Cllr on the Kildare-Newbridge MD, Chris Pender, confirmed that he and Cllr Pat Balfe have raised the issue with Kildare County Council, and are currently awaiting a response from the public lighting sector.
