It's part of over €16M announced for Kildare
Some €150,000 in funding has been awarded for Athy Main Street pavements, under the funding from TII and Dept of Transport.
This funding has been allocated under today's wider announcement of €15,880,377 for County Kildare.
Fianna Fáil Senator Fiona O’Loughlin commented: “I am pleased to see that over €15.8 million allocated under today announcement to Co Kildare. The bulk of which falls under Capital Investment for Protection & Renewal & Active Travel.”
“As part of this announcement I am glad to see €150,000 has been made available to fund maintenance etc on the pavements on Athys main street.”
“Adequate pavement quality is really important in rural towns such as Athy, especially for those with mobility issues or those with disabilities," she added.
