Kildare communities are set to benefit from a new €4.6 million community fund linked to the Kildare–Meath Grid Upgrade.
EirGrid says the fund will support local sustainability and community projects along the new 400-kilovolt underground electricity line between Dunnstown in Kildare and Woodland in Meath.
The funding will be released in three phases - when construction begins, mid-way through the project, and once it’s completed.
Head of Public Engagement, Sinead Dooley, says the fund recognises the support of local communities in delivering critical infrastructure.
