Kildare communities are set to benefit from a new €4.6 million community fund linked to the Kildare–Meath Grid Upgrade.
EirGrid says the fund will support local sustainability and community projects along the new 400-kilovolt underground electricity line between Dunnstown in Kildare and Woodland in Meath.
The funding will be released in three phases - when construction begins, mid-way through the project, and once it’s completed.
Head of Public Engagement, Sinead Dooley, says the fund recognises the support of local communities in delivering critical infrastructure.
Information workshops will take place in Kilcock, Naas, Clane and Batterstown on dates below, where local groups can learn how to apply.
