A nine-year-old from Timolin has become one of Ireland’s youngest entrepreneurs.
William Alexander Syrigos, a pupil at Ballyshannon National School in Kilcullen, designs and sells 3D-printed and laser-cut toys online through a business he co-founded with his 14-year-old friend, Sofia.
William first began making toys at five, selling an electromagnetic crane to his grandmother.
He has since expanded his creations, selling them at family parties before moving online.
His workshop at home is now equipped with 3D printers and laser cutters, where he develops new products such as fairy houses and dragon-themed toys.
He said people at school were surprised but all of his school wanted to join in on his business venture.
Co-founder Sofia said: "I've always loved being creative and making people happy. Growing up, I was amazed by how much joy toys bring to kids. So when William came up with this idea, I was excited to use my business skills and turn it into something real."
William had this advice for other youngsters hoping to set up a business.
