Father & Son From Laois Dead Following Road Traffic Incident In Turkey

Two Irish people, a father and son, who died in a road crash in Turkey have been named locally.

Eoin Fitzpatrick (30s) and his son Dylan (10), from Co Laois, were on holiday in Turkey with their family when the incident occurred on Monday afternoon.

According to Turkish media, the moped they were travelling on collided with a bus.

The Fitzpatrick family was on holiday when the road incident occurred.

The Department of Foreign Affairs said it was aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.

Eoin Fitzpatrick is reportedly a mechanic, from the Mountmellick area.

The mother of the child is travelling to Alanya, Turkey today.
