Financing has been completed for three solar plants, one of which is in Kildare.
Neoen and its partner BNRG says facilites, at Hortland in Donadea, and in Meath and Wicklow, are among the first large-scale solar projects under construction in theIreland
The projects were successful in the first auction of the Irish government’s Renewable Electricity Support Scheme
The electricity produced by the plants will benefit from support from the Irish State through a Contract for Difference mechanism up to 2037
Total project costs will amount to approximately €39 million, excluding financing costs.
The Kildare project, on a 38 hectare site outside Hortland, Donadea, has an operational life-span of 35 years.
