The fire broke out shortly after 2pm.
A fire has broken out at a plant that manufactures gas tools in Carlow.
It's understood six units of the fire service are currently tackling to the blaze on the O'Brien Road - two of each from the stations in Carlow, Bagenalstown and Tullow.
Staff have been evacuated from the building, while there are no reports of any injuries.
The fire broke out in the plant that manufacture and sell gas-powered hand tools, shortly after 2pm.
Gardai are urging locals to keeps doors and windows closed and for motorists to avoid the area.
The O'Brien road is currently closed, with diversions in place.
Locals have been warned there may be water pressure issues in the town as more water is diverted to the area to aid firefighters calming the blaze.
