The Forum on a Family-Friendly and Inclusive Parliament has issued a series of recommendations on the operations of the Houses of the Oireachtas.
The forum was established by Ceann Comhairle, Kildare South TD, Séan Ó Fearghaíl TD, in March.
Following consultation with Oireachtas staff, members and stakeholders, the forum's report was formally presented yesterday.
The report examined a range of topics, including measures to address harassment and bullying in the parliamentary community, the impact of the Houses' hours of operation on family life, childcare, physical infrastructure and access to the parliamentary complex, and improving the diversity of the parliamentary community to better reflect society in Ireland.
