The completion of the new national children’s hospital has been pushed back until late November, missing the original September deadline.
It will be the 15th confirmed delay.
It is also understood that the National Paediatric Hospital Development Board (NPHDB) is withholding 15% of BAM’s latest invoice.
BAM, the project’s main contractor, is headquartered in Kill.
The board has also told the company it plans to impose liquidated damages - daily fines for every day the project runs past its completion date.
Sources speaking to The Sunday Times confirmed that the revised handover date is now expected “towards the end of November.”
Just last week, Kfm reported how the Health Minister says the contractor BAM will be held to account for delivering the new National Children’s Hospital on time.
Jennifer Carroll MacNeill criticised the way work is being carried out, saying it isn’t happening in a logical or sequential way.
The number of contractors on site has halved - down from nearly 900 at the end of last year to about 400 this year.
The hospital, costing more than €2 billion, is due to open to officially open to patients next year.
