Arrests were later made and the car in question was found
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a member of An Garda Síochána was "knocked over" by a car he had pulled over.
The incident occurred on Friday June 12th at 11:30pm, on the M7 Southbound near junction 9a in Naas.
Two members pulled over a vehicle and were speaking with the driver, when the driver then drove off suddenly, knocking over one of the Gardaí in the process.
There was arrests made within a few hours of the incident, and the car was found two days later in Ballymore Eustace.
Speaking on Kildare Today's Crimewatch, Garda John Joe O' Connell said that the Garda sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident:
"There's quite serious injuries involved here with my colleague."
The car in question that was found was a white Seat Leon with the registration of 201-KE-4063.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone with DashCam footage or information to contact Naas Garda station or the Garda Confidential Line.
