Gardaí have carried out speed checks on a Newbridge road following concerns from local residents.
Local people had complained that they were struggling to safely exit their driveways due to speeding on the L7041 at Barretstown.
The speeding is also a danger to road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.
The road, which is 60km/h, recorded numerous speeding incidents during the Garda operation, most notably at 90km/h and 82/km/h.
A number of motorists were detected speeding and were each issued a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice of €160 and 3 penalty points.
