The crime spree began just after 1am, when a business on Main Street, Celbridge, was broken into.
Gardaí are investigating eight attempted burglaries that occurred in the early hours of last Saturday morning (May 24th) across Leixlip and Celbridge.
All incidents took place between 1am and 4.45am.
Gardai have told Kfm that while the incidents may be linked, they are "keeping an open mind".
The crime spree began just after 1am, when a business on Main Street, Celbridge, was broken into.
A rear fire door was forced open, but nothing was stolen.
At around 2.30am, two males were seen fleeing a garden in Westfield Estate, Leixlip, after trying to enter a home.
At 3:25 AM, an attempted break-in was reported at a house in Glen Easton Park, Leixlip.
Shortly before 4:00 AM, another incident occurred in The Orchard estate, Old Town Mill, Celbridge where a front door was found open after an attempted entry.
Between 4.20 am and 4:30 am, two homes just three doors apart in Thornhill Gardens, Celbridge, were targeted.
Intruders entered homes looking for car keys but failed to take any vehicles.
At 4:30 AM, a white Audi A3 was seen reversing up to a house in The Orchard, Celbridge. The suspects forced open the front door but fled when they realised the occupants were home.
Then, at 4:45 AM, the front door of a house in Primrose Gate, Celbridge, was found damaged.
Again, nothing was taken.
A Garda spokesperson said the culprits appeared to be “chancing their arm,” and confirmed investigations into all eight incidents are ongoing.
