Bus Éireann insists the service, B5050, is running – yet there’s no timetable, no operator, and no driver.
A Clane mother says her child has been left standing in the rain waiting for a school bus that doesn’t appear to exist.
Gráinne Plaxton's son was given a concessionary ticket for the Clane to Prosperous route to St Farnan's Post Primary School.
But when term began this week, no bus turned up.
Bus Éireann insists the service, B5050, is running – yet there’s no timetable, no operator, and no driver.
For several mornings, Ms Plaxton and her son have gone to the stop and waited in the rain, only to discover there is no bus at all.
Ms Plaxton is demanding answers from Bus Éireann and the Department of Education.
To make matters worse, Ms Plaxton's other son, who has autism, gets picked up by a bus outside his home to take him to the same school.
But the bus is not allowed to take a student attending a mainstream classroom.
Kfm has contacted Bus Eireann for comment.
