Deputy James Lawless received the confirmation from the Department of Education
The Department of Education has granted permission for Gaelscoil Ruairi in Maynooth to proceed to the tender stage with its plans for their new school building.
The Gaelscoil is currently based at a temporary facility on the grounds of Maynooth Education Campus on the Moyglare Road.
The new school is funded under the Large-Scale Capital Programme and will consist of an eight-classroom primary school.
It will also include two classrooms for students with special educational needs.
Welcoming the news, Fianna Fail TD James Lawless says he has assurances that the project for Gaelscoil Ruairí is a "significant priority for the Department."
