His aunt Nora has had to take to social media to warn people about the scam.
The family of a young boy from Newbridge who passed away have had to take to social media to warn people about a scam trying to profit from his death.
The scam, set up via a Facebook page, is encouraging people to pay for flowers or contribute to a memorial plant.
Jamie, from St. Dominics Park, passed away suddenly at Crumlin Hospital on Saturday.
His aunt Nora has had to take to social media to warn people about the scam.
She said none of Jamie's family members set up the page and that they will "not be setting up any pages".
She has urged anyone who comes across the page to report it.
Kfm has attempted to reach out to the family for further comment.
The scam Facebook page has 42 friends. It includes a payment link, with the scammer named as 'Md Sumon Reza'.
Earlier this year, scammers set up websites claiming to offer a live stream of a particular funeral. They take the deceased person's information from their obituary listing and will even take photos from the person's social media profile.
When a person clicks on the page for the funeral they wish to see, they are prompted to set up an account.
This process involves providing credit card details.
