A hosepipe ban is being extended for Kildare and twelve other counties until the end of September.
Uisce Éireann confirmed the news, stating "water sources and public water supplies remain under pressure and require continued protection".

The conservation order for Cavan, Clare, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Leitrim, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Monaghan, Roscommon, Sligo and Westmeath will expire at 11.59 on Wednesday night.
The lifting of the ban for some parts of the country is due to an improvement in the availability of water for supply and increased rainfall.
The utility has thanked the public for efforts to help protect supplies.
