Administration of boosters to over 40s began over the weekend
The HSE hopes all adults will be offered a Covid-19 booster vaccination by early February.
It comes as experts say the vaccine rollout is progressing strongly.
The Irish health service says capacity for boosters is operating at near maximum capacity.
300,000 doses were administered last week, as officials look to mitigate the spread of the Omicron variant.
There had been reports of some people being turned away at walk in centres due to long queues.
The Vaccination Team in Punchestown have thanked the public for their kind words & patience, during the wait times.
