Areas including Allenwood, Derrinturn and Carbury affected.
A large tract of mid and north west rural Kildare may experience water supply disruption until early this evening.
Irish Water begins repairs to a ruptured watermain at 9.30am this morning.
The works may affect supply to hundreds of homes and businesses in:
Allenwood
Bluetown
Lullymore
Drimsree
Dreenane
Ticknevin
Derrinturn
Ballyhagan
Killina
Carbury
And their surrounding areas
Irish Water expects works to be completed by 5pm this evening.
It could, however, take up to three hours, after that, for the system to refill and for normal supply to resume.
