It is some way off from aiding in meeting Ireland's target of 900,000 eVehicles on the roads by 2030.
522 new electric vehicles were registered in October compared to 254 in October 2020.
That's according to the latest data from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry.
It says, so far this year 8,342 new electric cars have been registered, in comparison to 3,867 on the same period 2020.

Its an increase of over 100%, but is some way off from aiding in meeting Ireland's target of 900,000 eVehicles on the roads by 2030.
