The number of people aged 50 or over contacting Alone over housing difficulties is rising.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Head of Communications for Alone, Frank Dillon, said more and more older people renting can't afford to keep up payments when their income drops later in life.

Meanwhile, in Kildare, market rents were on average 10.1% higher in the second quarter of 2024 than a year previously.
The average listed rent is now €1983, up 45% from the level prevailing the covid 19 pandemic.
