A safety assessment by the 'Save Castletown Gate Protectors' has concluded that reassigning Lime Avenue as the main traffic access to Castletown House in Celbridge poses significant risks.
The report, conducted by independent consultants, highlights concerns over the narrow width of the avenue, posing dangers for pedestrians and emergency service access.
The report, carried out by Trasky, an independent traffic and transport consultancy, also noted how vehicles travelling at slow speed pose a risk to pedestrians.
It also found that a sloped verge on the Avenue could lead to buggies or wheel chairs toppling over when they move to the side to facilitate passing vehicles.
The report will be launched today at 11am at The Castletown Inn, Main Street, Celbridge.
