The latest fatality was in Castledermot.
It's suggested penalties for road offences should be tailored to fit the crime.
The Irish Road Victim's Association wants to see penalty points increased in line with levels of speeding.
It comes after 3 people died on the roads this bank holiday weekend, bringing the total for the first 3 months of the year to 58.
The Association's Donna Price says the 'one size fits all' approach isn't working.
Meanwhile, Gardai continue their appeal for witnesses following an incident that occurred at Knocknagee, Castledermot on Easter Sunday at approximately 11.30am.
A cyclist, a man in his 60s, was travelling from Castledermot on the L8090 towards Carlow, when he came in contact with a vehicle at the crossroads - a White Toyota Prius.
This cyclist was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Kildare Garda Station at 045 527730, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
