Conveys departed meeting points at approximately 7am
For the second time in less than a month, The Irish Truckers and Haulage Association are set to block several routes into Dublin this morning, as part of a protest against fuel prices.
Just before 8.30am on Monday, the group noted on its Facebook page:
Prior to the first protest on 24th November, organisers said they wanted the government to address the nation on the fuel issue, otherwise they would return in bigger numbers, the week before Christmas.
Conveys met at the following points this morning:
M7: Toughers, Naas
M4: Galway Plaza & Kinnegad Plaza
M1: Services Southbound
M2/N2: Ashbourne Retail Park
M3: Maxol Service Station
M11: Applegreen Junction 4 Cullenmore Service Station
On the groups Facebook page it was noted that marshals were at each meeting point this morning, telling people "when to leave & what route".
Other instructions included: "No trucks in fast lane and minimum speed on motoway is 50km"
"Keep hard shoulders free for emergency vehicles".
