“It’s So Cool” – Athy Girl Band’s Big Break On Netflix Series 'Ginny And Georgia'

Band member Maykala Farrell said the experience has been surreal.

"It's so cool."

That's how an Athy teenager has described news that her band IF, made up of three 16-year-old students at Athy College, have just had their song 'Something About You' featured on the popular Netflix series 'Ginny and Georgia'.

The band, made up of Maykala Farrell, Melina McDonald and Natalia Bielaszewska, recorded the song when they were 14.

Maykala Farrell said the experience has been surreal.

It's now available to hear on episode 9 of season 3 of the show.

Speaking on Kildare Today, Maykala said she was on her way to Newbridge when she heard the song would be used. She said she almost had a "heart attack" and immediately texted the other band members.

She said she is hoping to pursue a career in music and she will "see what happens".

The band also has a presence on Spotify.
