Kildare County Council has signed an enhanced Covenant of Mayors - Europe, as part of its first Climate and Energy Week
The covenant of Mayors outlines a joint commitment of local governments and regions to "setting targets consistent with EU objectives, engaging with citizens, business and governments and acting now to accelerate the necessary transition to reach those targets."
KCC says signing the document "demonstrate continued commitment to climate ambitions and actions to ensure the well-being of present and future generations."

To produce a Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan (SECAP) for Kildare
Reducing CO2 emissions and our energy consumption
Increasing resilience by adapting to the impact of climate change
Mayor of Kildare Councillor Naoise Ó Cearúil, says "Kildare County Council is determined to play our part in tackling Climate Change. In signing the Covenant of Mayors - Europe, we are committed to enacting tangible steps in our Climate Action journey.
