Works are ongoing
Kildare County Council says works are ongoing to alleviate the problem of flooding between Hawkfield in Newbridge and Milltown village.
Responding to a motion brought forward to the recent Kildare-Newbridge MD meeting by Fine Gael Cllr. Peggy O'Dwyer, the Council stated that weeks of drainage investigations had been carried out in the area.
The pipes were also jetted from both directions and the manholes were cleaned out.
KCC concluded by saying roots cleaning still needed to be done and there was a possibility that another manhole would have to be installed in order to fully resolve the issue.
