For a minimum of six weeks, Celbridge will be operating with two of its main access roads closed simultaneously
The Kfm Team headed out to Celbridge, as concerns have been raised over current road closures on Aghards Road to allow Uisce Éireann works in the area.
More works are due to commence on the Hazelhatch Road on May 6th, 2026.
For a minimum of six weeks, Celbridge will be operating with two of its main access roads closed simultaneously.
Kevin Mullen, a Celbridge resident, spoke on Wednesday morning's Kildare Today show to outline his concerns.
Fianna Fáil TD for Kildare North, Naoise Ó Cearúil has said that the works are necessary but there are issues with the timing.
"Most people understand that these works are necessary, we need to upgrade the water infrastructure in Kildare."
In a response to a query sent from Kfm News, Uisce Éireann stated:
"Uisce Éireann recognises the disruption that these essential infrastructure projects can cause and would like to thank the community for their patience. Due to the time and sequencing required to deliver this infrastructure, it is not feasible to complete all the works during school holidays."
Deputy Ó Cearúil criticised the timing of the works, pushing back on the claim from Uisce Éireann that the works couldn't be completed entirely during the summer holidays.
