The confirmation comes as double-tracking and electrification are now planned from Maynooth to Kilcock, extending the electrified DART network into the town.
It is understood that DART trains are set to stop in Kilcock under the first phase of the DART+ West project.
The confirmation comes as double-tracking and electrification are now planned from Maynooth to Kilcock, extending the electrified DART network into the town.
Minister for Further and Higher Education and Kildare North TD James Lawless says the works will allow Kilcock to receive the same high-frequency electric train services currently available in Maynooth and along the DART corridor.
A new rail maintenance depot is planned west of Kilcock, with Iarnród Éireann expected to submit a planning application in early 2026.
The Minister also said the DART+ South West project - covering stations including Adamstown, Hazelhatch and Sallins - could be delivered earlier than planned.
Originally scheduled for after 2030, Deputy Lawless said he is "now receiving strong indications that the project may proceed on an accelerated timeline".
Just last week, concerns were raised that Kilcock residents could be left living beside a large depot with no passenger station for locals.
Kildare North Social Democrats TD Aidan Farrelly said: "If we can deliver a station as far as the depot, that would make massive sense from a future planning perspective."
