Mescal's Gaelic football background may have helped him to land his role in Gladiator Two.
Profits at the entertainment firm owned by one of Hollywood's most sought-after Kildare actors, Paul Mescal, doubled last year, reaching €309,051.
New accounts filed by Mescal's Castle Dawson Pictures Ltd reveal a significant increase in post-tax profits for the 12 months ending October 2023.
The firm's profits of €309,051 represent an 86% rise from the previous year's €165,658.
By the end of October 2023, Castle Dawson Pictures Ltd had accumulated profits totaling €474,309. Despite the impressive financial performance, the company did not distribute any dividends last year. In contrast, a €99,861 dividend was paid out to Mescal in 2022.
Mescal's Gaelic football background may have helped him to land his role in Gladiator Two.
He's told Vanity Fair he spent about 10 minutes talking about the sport with director Ridley Scott, when he approached him about the part.
Pictures have been released of Paul in character as Lucius, ahead of the film's release in November.
