Kildare Among Ireland’s Worst Counties For Illegal Fireworks Offences

Nationally, over 4,100 offences were recorded across the country, including 184 last year.

Kildare ranks among the top counties in Ireland for illegal fireworks offences over the past two decades.

New figures from the Central Statistics Office show there were 157 recorded fireworks offences in the Kildare Garda Division since 2004.

Nationally, over 4,100 offences were recorded across the country, including 184 last year.

Limerick tops the list with 336 offences, followed by Dublin West on 278, and Donegal with 263.

Energy Efficiency Ireland says the use of illegal fireworks doesn’t just pose safety risks - it can also damage air and water quality, and contribute to land pollution.
