Almost 800 aggressive dog attacks on people were reported last year.
They led to 308 sustained injuries, according to data from the Department of Rural and Community Development.
The majority of attacks took place in Cork, Clare and Dublin, while Carlow and Kildare were the only two counties to report no incidents.
