Kildare Animal Charity Saves Donkey Abandoned In Forest With "Worst Hooves" Seen In "Long Time"

A member of My Lovely Horse Rescue described the donkey, named Peadar, as "cruel".

An abandoned donkey with severely overgrown hooves has been taken into the care of Moyvalley-based animal charity, My Lovely Horse rescue.

The donkey was found roaming alone in a forest by the Donkey Sanctuary Ireland.

He will undergo treatment at UCD before being rehomed in Kildare.

A member of My Lovely Horse Rescue described the treatment of the donkey, named Peadar, as "cruel".

"His hooves are the worst we’ve seen in a long time - the discomfort and pain this boy had learnt to deal with is unreal," they said.
