New crime figures show Kildare recorded 16 burglaries per 10,000 people in 2025, matching the national average.

Kildare recorded a burglary rate of 16 offences per 10,000 people last year, according to the Central Statistics Office crime figures.

That puts Kildare in line with the national average, but below neighbouring Wicklow, which had one of the highest rates in the country at 26 per 10,000.

The residents at highest risk of being burgled are Dublin, Wicklow, and Louth.

The lowest rate of the crime was in Mayo, followed by Roscommon and Donegal.

Nationally, the number of burglaries fell by 13% in 2025, with 8,469 incidents recorded across the country.
