Green Generation, based in Nurney, claimed the Innovation in Waste Resource Products or Service award, while Naas-based Dawn Farm Foods Ltd took home the Waste Prevention award.
Ireland’s commitment to sustainability was on full display at this year’s Pakman Awards, where Green Generation and Dawn Farm Foods Ltd were celebrated for their environmental contributions.
Green Generation, based in Nurney, claimed the Innovation in Waste Resource Products or Service award, while Naas-based Dawn Farm Foods Ltd took home the Waste Prevention award.

Green Generation transforms farm and food waste into renewable energy through anaerobic digestion, producing biogas that’s upgraded to biomethane and integrated into Ireland’s natural gas supply.
Major companies like Tesco use this clean energy, highlighting Green Generation’s role in reducing Ireland’s carbon footprint. The company also recycles food-contaminated plastics into products like motorway barriers, aligning with Ireland’s clean energy targets.
Dawn Farm Foods Ltd, a global food producer, demonstrated strong sustainability practices, including the use of 100% renewable energy and active participation in Ireland’s Origin Green program.

In early 2024, Dawn Farms recycled over 542 tonnes of material, reaching a 60% waste recycling target, and reduced plastic use by 50% with new recyclable packaging, helping achieve zero landfill waste.
