The acknowledgement came at Monday's full council meeting
Kildare County Council have officially confirmed that the Office of Public Works (OPW) are the purchasers of Donaghcumper House in Celbridge.
The confirmation came at a meeting of the full council yesterday afternoon.
Pressure had been mounting from some councillors on the Celbridge-Leixlip Municipal District for the council to publicly acknowledge who the new owners are.
The OPW now owns 7.5 hectares on the site, which includes Donaghcumper House, the gate house and the laneway up to the house.
The remaining 20 hectares around the house remains in the ownership of Kildare County Council.
