Kildare County Council has been tasked with constructing over 2,000 social homes over the next five years.

There are in excess of 3,000 applicants on Kildare's social housing waiting list, including families and individuals

The Irish Times reports that, under new Housing for All targets, KCC must build 2,068 homes by 2026.

Local authorities have been tasked with building 47,000 homes, nationwide, in that time-frame.
