With St Patrick’s Day celebrations and parades taking places in towns and villages across the county, the council is highlighting the increase in number of pedestrians using the roads over the weekend.
They are asking all roads users to be mindful of the unusual circumstances of the St Patrick’s weekend and asked people to always to think about safety.
Kildare Gardaí says there will be increased enforcement activities across the county and nationally.
Their operation will target drink driving, speeding, and mobile phone use while driving.
