Crime figures for the Kildare Garda Division show increases in sexual offences, theft and public order incidents in the first six months of 2025 compared with the same period last year.

Within that, rape and sexual assault cases rose from 52 to 62.
Theft offences also increased, rising to 1,489 cases in the first six months of this year, compared with 1,422 in the first half of 2024.
Shoplifting accounted for 667 of those incidents.
Public order offences stood at 501 in 2025, compared with 449 in 2024.
Road offences show a marked increase in alcohol-related detections.
There were 240 drink-driving cases in the first half of 2025, compared with 120 in the same period last year.
Other crime types recorded decreases.
Burglary offences fell to 216 cases this year, compared with 236 in the first half of 2024.
Robbery offences dropped to 17, down from 41 last year.
Drug offences also declined, with 325 cases recorded so far in 2025, compared with 418 in the first six months of 2024.
Assault-related offences fell to 387 this year, compared with 479 in the same period last year.
Homicide offences dropped to zero in the first half of 2025, compared with five cases in the same period last year.
