The Council has confirmed that a state-of-the-art mobile library, powered by Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil and fitted with solar panels, Wi-Fi and full accessibility, will be delivered in late 2026.
Kildare’s Mobile Library Service is back on the road after a seven-month break - and a brand new, eco-powered vehicle is on the way.
A new driver has been appointed and routes through Kill and Prosperous have already resumed.

Officials say the new vehicle will allow the service to expand into more communities and festivals.
