Since the programme launched in July 2022, more than €424 million has been paid to roughly 27,500 recipients hosting over 63,500 people.
The number of properties in Kildare receiving the State’s Accommodation Recognition Payment (ARP) has almost tripled in three years, according to new figures released to the Dáil.
The monthly €600 payment is available to households providing accommodation to people who arrived in Ireland under the EU Temporary Protection Directive.
New data shows that 281 properties in Kildare were supported under the scheme in January 2023.
That rose to 476 in January 2024, 729 in January 2025, and stands at 814 properties as of February 2026.
Nationally, almost 23,500 properties are now supported under the scheme, accommodating around 42,000 beneficiaries.

However, the Department has clarified it cannot say how many hosts are property owners, because the scheme also allows tenants to apply with the consent of the landlord.
The figures relate to properties linked to successful claims, not individual homeowners.
The ARP scheme was introduced as part of Ireland’s response to the arrival of people fleeing the war in Ukraine.
